Velscope Oral Cancer Screening
Oral cancer is one the most common forms of cancer today and has one of the lowest survival rates. The reason oral cancer is so common is that it is often misdiagnosed or left undiagnosed until it is too late. If oral cancer is not diagnosed and treated in time, it could spread to other areas of the face and neck leading to disfigurement and pain. Adults over the age of 40 (especially men) are most susceptible to oral cancer, but people of all ages are at risk. Oral cancer can appear anywhere in the mouth, but the tongue appears to be the most common location.
